Justice Reform
At times, being a criminal defense attorney or doing public defender work can be emotionally difficult. Often, we get to know our clients and despite their poor choices, we have hope for them. I have a young client who was facing a very long federal sentence and through my hard work and a change in the law, his sentence is much reduced and in my opinion much more humane.
I went to visit this kid in jail to deliver the news, he was so thankful. He looked at me with wide eyes and called me a “beast.” In my world, there is no greater compliment. So thankful; this kid is going to be someone one day!!!
